Hi, I’m Yitz
the computer that I am writing this on sits on top of a table I designed and welded. it is running a version of Debian Linux and contains folder after folder of badly organized projects.
Looking across my desk I see fountain pens that have leaks I am trying to find and fix, a old version of The Family Bee which has a broken .049 nitro engine that smells faintly of castor oil, and tally marks from a probability experiment.
Hello I’m Yitz
Too my left, I have a copy of paradise lost, to my right a cup of tea, and somewhere in the parade of browser tabs I have a set of math problems I want to learn how to do.
There is always something going on in my head.
I could write about my thoughts on life the universes and everything here, but that’s partially the purpose of this website. so explore, and feel free to contact me if you have any thought or ideas I should consider.
Howdy I’m Yitz
Do you consider yourself lucky? I want to clarify that there is a difference between that question and are you lucky?”
This is a question I have asked people of all different backgrounds. I get enough yes’s to make me optimistic about the world. it does beg the question though: do I feel lucky?
I have been in the right place at the right time enough to confidently answer yes. I do feel lucky
But, I also believe you have to create your own luck. saying yes to adventure has let me:
- survive a moose attack
- spend an evening in a remote hot spring learning about Hawaii’s social issues from a native
- climb a tree in almost every country I have visited (I couldn’t swing it during an overnight layover in Istanbul)
